Introduction to Geometry

What is geometry? Geometry is the branch of mathematics dealing with the study of properties, measurement, and relationships of points, lines, planes, surfaces, angles, and solids. (Basically, it is the study of objects and the space around those objects). It is one of the oldest branches of mathematics, and its name is derived from Greek words meaning 'Earth measurement', where 'geo = Earth' and 'metry' = 'measure'.
